This is us showing the school assembly how different types of bridges work. We have been studying bridges for three weeks in Inquiry. We have learnt that there are five basic types of bridge. The Bean Bridge, like the Pontchartrain Causeway in the USA. The Arch Bridge, like the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia. The Cantilever Bridge, like the Forth Railway Bridge in Scotland. The Suspension Bridge, like the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge and the Cable Stayed Bridge, like the Russky Bridge in Russia. Mr Robinson needed a favour so we through our assembly item together in an hour and a half and it was a triumph. Here are some photo's of our demonstration of the bridge types. You may need to use a little imagination but that's the all part of the fun.
