This is what we look like when we are hard at work. We were doing some art and craft, making pop-up cards and jack-in-the-boxes for Rosie at After School Care. This was fairly delicate and exacting work. We learnt to 'measure twice and cut once'. (Another pearl of wisdom from Mr J).

This is us checking out a new reading site on the Chrome Books. It's our first time exploring Readingeggs, a site similar to Mathletics but for reading and spelling.

Strike Percussion Group showed up to give a concert last week and as always they were great.
For those of us interested in music and rhythm they were just the ticket. Three performers entertained us with a mix of humour and danger. (That's right folks, Don't try this at home). The fire part of the show should only be performed by trained professionals. There were Cook Island log drums, a vertical rack of conventional drums, a standard drum kit and a snare drum and hi hat cymbals a couple of lucky teachers got to play. Unfortunately Mr J got so interested in the performance that he forgot to get the photo's that mattered but here are some to give you a taste.

Yay, a new post!!

We have been participating in the school gymnastics programme over the past few weeks.
Each Wednesday we have an hour with the Gymnastics Team who take us through some very cool, fun and challenging activities. The great thing about this programme is that we get to do and try things we don't get to do usually.
Here some photo's from last weeks session.

We have been working on Procedural Text this term. This is the type of writing that tells us 'how to' do things. Recipes, instructions, map reading etc. Our aim is to be able to write a logical sequence of instructions that others can follow.

Here are some examples.

Nadia wrote a poem about Nature that she read to our Syndicate assembly.
Great writing Nadia.
